COMPOSER - PERFORMER - CONDUCTOR

Spil og leik was a project Djupedal started in the summer of 2017. She received a stipend from the Student Innovation Fund to research the folk instruments langspil and langeleik, which can be considered the Icelandic and the Norwegian variants of the same instrument. The project involved arranging and composing new music for these folk instruments and creating a music notation method for langspil. Djupedal worked closely with the folk music group Spilmenn Ríkínís, a renowed Icelandic folk music group. The members are Marta Guðrún Halldorsdóttir, Örn Magnussón and Ásta Sigríður Arnardóttir.

Spil og leik er et prosjekt Djupedal startet sommeren 2017. Hun mottok et stipen fra Student Innovation Fund for å forske på folkeinstrumentene langspil og langeleik, som kan ses på som to varianter av samme instrument. Prosjektet gikk ut på å arrangere og komponere ny musikk for blant annet disse folkeinstrumenten og lage en notasjonsmetode for langspil. Djupedal hadde et tett samarbeid med folkemusikkgruppen Spilmenn Ríkínís, en kjent islandsk folkemusikkgruppe. Medlemmene er Marta Guðrún Halldorsdóttir, Örn Magnussón og Ásta Sigríður Arnardóttir.
